Get Brainwashed.

Brainwashing refers to the systematic application techniques to change the beliefs or behaviour of one or more people. Brainwashing is fundamentally the concept that the human mind can be altered or controlled by certain psychological techniques. Well, that’s cool. What we understand by “brainwashing” is what it was introduced to do; -forcefully convince people that they need to accept/adhere to a certain stance/behaviour that doesn’t necessarily benefit their individual life’s pursuits but rather profit/benefit/assist a third party in their aims and interests. And therefore, it all becomes so messed up. Because the same techniques can be applied to accomplish complete contradictory results. Brainwashing- (also known as mind control, menticide, coercive persuasion, thought control, thought reform, and re-education) is said to reduce its subject’s ability to think critically or independently, to allow the introduction of new, unwanted thoughts and ideas into the subject’s mind, as well as to change his or her attitudes, values, and beliefs. “Brainwashing” :

1. A method for systematically changing attitudes or altering beliefs, originated in totalitarian countries, especially using torture, drugs, or psychological-stress techniques.

2. Any method of controlled systematic indoctrination, especially one based on repetition or confusion: Brainwashing by TV commercials.

That doesn’t sound like Brainwashing to me. Washing: Making something clean. Is that not a good thing? We wash our clothes, ourselves, not because we want to make it worse, right? In fact, it sounds more like we are suffering from a severe case of “SoiledBrain”. And I think that maybe it’s time we take it to the laundrette. Of course, if we were going to be told we were being “BrainSoiled” we hadn’t have fallen for it. (I hope). The concept of brainwashing was originally developed during the Korean War to explain how Chinese captors appeared to make American prisoners of war cooperate with them. I don’t accept that they were really being Brain-washed. In the true meaning of the word. Brainwashing is the exact antidote of what we currently are. -Knowing why we think a certain way, questioning if what we are told is really as it seems, understanding our own psychology, understanding and see through the “stories” we make up in our minds, have firm convictions, that although give us strong unshakable values, permits us at the same time to re-organise or acquire fresh ones in the face of new and verifiable evidence that can only lead to personal development instead of decaying debilities. People listen to proclamations that are marketed strategically to appeal to their senses in order for someone to benefit financially (or otherwise) with no questions asked.

What’s funny however, (not funny HAHA, but funnily confusing) is that people, granted sometimes unwarily, “fall” for negative, or in other words, subliminal messages that have no substantial value for their individual wellbeing, BUT, will resist an approach that can consciously better themselves. What (the Fuck) is wrong with us? “We consciously or unconsciously disregard that which we feel has no importance to us.”

We live in a state of perpetual confusion between what we know to be true, what we know we should do and what we were told to do, see/feel/understand and HOW. They tell us what to think. We think; “that’s not right. But OK.” We are more comfortable doubting ourselves, our “gut feelings”, our better judgement than questioning other people’s intentions? Well, that can’t be healthy.
